Greenway: Parent Involvement Plan

Your involvement in your child(ren)’s education makes an enormous impact. Once the pandemic is over, we would love to see you attend our events, such as Family Lemonade in the Shade, Back to School Night, Curriculum Nights and other family engagement events . In addition, we would love your participation in the Parent Teacher Organization.

In order to build an even more effective home-school partnership, Greenway Elementary Schoolwill provide the following:

Annual Meeting:

Parents are invited to attend this meeting at the beginning of each school year, as part of our Back-To-School Night, to leam more about the requirements of Title I and our School-wide Title I Program. At this meeting there will be opportunities to review the Title I documents and give input into the following: An annual meeting, at a

convenient time, in which all parents shall be invited and encouraged to attend, to inform parents of their school’s participation in the Title I program. The school will explain its requirements and the parent/guardian's right to be involved.

Continuous communication to assist parents in understanding how they can promote the education of their children at home. Articles will be written in the school newsletter concerning reading and/or math issues, which will help parents become partners with the school in promoting the education of their child at school and home. Classroom newsletters will be sent home to inform parents about grade level instruction and activities.

An annual survey for all parents shall be conducted to collect opinions and concerns about the current program, suggestions for improvements and topics for meetings that meet the needs of parents.

Interpreter phone contacts and conferences are available by calling Greenway. Other times are arranged based on parents needs.

Every effort will be made to communicate with parents in a format and language that is free of educational jargon and easily understandable by all. Parents and community members are always welcome at Greenway.
